Why Buy the Side Car?
With the Side Car Controller you get 3 dedicated footswitches which control “Stack”, “Erase” and “Play Stop All”. You also get 4 additional bonus features for a total of 8 between the 2 pedals. With these additional Bonus options, you can unlock the true potential of the Rang III including the easy use of “Loop 4” without needing to give up any bonus features.
Connecting to the Rang III
The Side Car Controller connects to the Boomerang III using a standard 5-pin MIDI cable (included with purchase). One end of the MIDI cable connects to the “Pedal Link Out” port on the Side Car and the other end connects to the “Pedal Link IN” port on your Rang III. No additional setup is needed. You can also daisy chain the Side Car to the RangIII’s power supply with the DC power Y splitter included with your purchase.
Momentary Stack Mode
Momentary Stack Mode is a feature that was included on the original Boomerang and Boomerang Plus models. This feature has been reintroduced on the Side Car Controller. In this mode, stacking (also known as overdubbing) is only active when the “Stack” foot switch is being pressed instead of it being continuous while the “Stack” light is flashing. Sometimes this a better option for overdubbing depending on the musical part being added.
MIDI Clock with the Side Car Controller
If you want to use the Side Car with your Rang III but you already use the Rang III's “Pedal Link In” port for syncing with MIDI clock the Side Car will retransmit the MIDI clock messages to the Rang III. Simply connect the MIDI cable from the MIDI clock device to the “Pedal Link IN” port on the Side Car which puts the Side Car between the MIDI clock device and the Rang III in the signal chain. The Side Car MIDI commands and MIDi tempo will both transmit through the Side Car’s “Pedal Link Out” port.
The Panic Button
This feature is assignable to either the Green or Yellow bonus buttons on the Side Car and offers a quick cutoff to all loops and overdubs. With lots of overdubbing sometimes volumes can become overwhelming especially when using lots of effects like delay. The Panic button allows you to cut-off ALL audio quickly.
Compatibility With Older Rang III Models.
The included Y power cable splitter for daisy chaining the Side Car to the Rang III’s power supply is only compatible with Rang III models that have a serial number beginning with “91”. If you own a Rang III with a serial number beginning with either "L3" or "56" the Y splitter will not fit on those pedals. Please check your serial number before purchasing this product. Please contact Boomerang Customer Support for any questions you might have regarding this.

Some parts don't fit the vacuum or are funky (in a bad way)
Overall it's nice to have these replacement parts. A few issues:
1. The included tiny plastic-handled screwdriver snapped in half right away when we used it to remove some screws from the unit.
2. The screwdriver isn't the right size for some of the screws. It would be nice to have 2 sizes, both sturdier than the original.
3. The cleaning tool (see pic) has a square shaped end, instead if a tapered end like the original. This means you can't use it to clean the end notches on the main brush.
4. One of the main brushes doesn't fit well, and causes a horrendously loud noise when we tried it. The second brush is as quiet as the original.

Very poor quality items. Rotating brushes are cheap, used with inferior adhesive as they come out very easily. The roller seems used and cleaned to resell as it does a poor job. With all the items included it seems like a good deal, but the poor quality makes it not so. Do not recommend. I bought the items in late December 2022 and I just put my last rotating brush on already (Late March 2023).
